I took Julia for her first set of vaccinations yesterday. 3 needles into the thigh for a variety of diseases and ailements. She took the first needle well, but was just plain mad by the time the third one was over! Thus far there have been no adverse side effects; she has been a bit sleepy, and was weepy for about an hour after the shots were over. The nurses also weighed her, she is now 12.5 pounds, and growing! She is in the 90th percentile for height, weight, and head diameter; a well proportioned little big girl.

For a baby who can not yet sit up on her own, and won’t for several more months, Julia sure has a lot of places to sit. She has a car seat (the mandatory baby seat), another car seat for when she is older, a high chair, a bouncy seat, a swing, and a bumbo seat. Those are her seats. She also likes to sit on the couch and in the recliner when she has something to prop her up. Babies sure like to sit around…

We have been a travelin’ as of late with out little girl. We headed up to Red Deer for Thanksgiving and then Julia and I spent just under a week there with my mom (aka. Grandma Kathy) while Derek explored the wilds of Alberta. During her stay with Grandma, Julia began to purposely grab at and grasp some toys, as well as deliberately kick the toys hanging down in front of her. She can hold her head up well now and is currently sitting beside me on the arm chair while I type. This week she gets her first set of innoculations; I will let you know how her and I both hold up! I also updated the photo gallery this past weekend, so take a look!

We took Julia to the park for the first time yesterday. Being it was such a nice day we decided to pick up some lunch and head down to Prince’s Island Park for the afternoon. She didn’t seem to mind the grass and all three of us enjoyed the sunshine. We also took a few photos which I will post shortly.  Today we went to church for the first time as a family and Julia did well there also. She made it through about 3/4 of the service before she and I headed out to the “main street” area of the church, and was quite happy to visit with anyone and everyone that she met.

And for those that are tracking… she weighed in at 11lbs 14 ounces on Friday afternoon.
