Our little Julia has decided that for now she will sleep through the night… we have had almost a full week of uninterrupted night time sleep, which for the past ten months or so has been a pipe dream of mine and what Derek gets in unpredicatble sporatic bursts when he goes out of town for work. And tonight there was an extra bonus; I put Julia to bed and there was no crying! She just rolled over and quietly laid in bed until she fell asleep. Although I have to admit, it is a little bit sad when your little girl decides that she does not need that extra cuddle to fall asleep. Then again, I have had almost two full hours to myself tonight which is a welcome change (and calm, and oh so quiet!), for who knows what tomorrow night will bring!
As for other news in our little girl’s life, she has been very busy. She visited the grandparents this weekend, helped run a garage sale, saw Auntie Sharyl and Uncle Ryan, and even got to visit her friends Kennedy and Sydney. She is now sitting in her booster seat at the table which has lead to a sudden increase in space in the kitchen as the high chair is put in the closet for future visitors to our home. Her middle top teeth are slowly making their way out, and should be chomping down on food sometime within this next week.
Tomorrow will bring a visit from Auntie Sharyl, and hopefully a fun filled girls day that includes some productive shopping and some tasty food. This weekend we will be taking Julia on her first camping trip with Grandpa Marvin and Grandma Shirley, which will be our first holiday since she was born. Sort of a trial run at camping before we head out just the three of us at the end of July. Let’s just hope that Grandpa remembers the tent!
