Fearful

It was bound to happen sometime, our Julia has her first real fear… robots and toys that move on their own. This would include her previously loved animal train (it is now not allowed to move or sing, if it does, Julia promptly whacks and tosses it until it stops). She also has turned against her Elmo and the walking pig at Grandpa’s office. The most surprising toy that she no longer likes though is her aquarium. She turned it on today and was absolutely terrified. I guess it’s coming out of the crib!
It’s Me Again!

Hi Everybody! It’s me again, your resident cutie pie. Here are some tidbits about my life these days that I would like to share…
Guess what my favourite food is… I bet your guess is wrong! These days my favourite food is tomatoes! Yes, tomatoes. I love them. Mom and Dad say I cry for them like they are candy. Big ones, little ones, I like all kinds. I can hardly wait for next month when we can eat the ones growing outside!
I can stand up all on my own now, pretty soon I will be walking all on my own, just as soon as I am not so scared of taking that first step not holding onto anything. But in the mean time there are enough pieces of furniture in my house that I can walk almost anywhere without holding onto Mom or Dad’s hands.
I went to the zoo today and saw the new elephant house. It is pretty big, and in the fall there are going to be stingrays in there that we can touch! That should be pretty neat. They also had all of these pictures up of penguins and polar bears; Dad says that in a few years they will be living at the zoo too like the elephants. That should be fun since I like watching them on tv.
I visited my grandparents this past week in Red Deer. I got to go to Grandpa’s and Grandma Kathy’s work! I think that I was the cutest one there! I also went shopping with Grandma Shirley and tried to give her some ideas for my birthday, but it was hard since there were not a lot of big girl toys at the store we were at. Oh, Mom wants me to tell you that big girl toys are ones for 1 year or 18 months and up. I also saw auntie Sharyl for a little bit too; I didn’t recognize her with a towel on her head — she looked funny! Mom and I also went out for supper with Grandma Kathy and I got to eat off of a plate at the restaurant. Mom was so happy that I did not throw my food around (or the plate).
But, I should get back to playing. Talk to you all again soon!
PS. I would post pictures but Mom has not put them on her computer yet… something about it being full and needing to burn something. I hope she is careful, I don’t want her to get hurt!
First Campout

Guess what loyal readers… I like camping! Mom and Dad took me to this place called Fish Lake and we got to stay there for three days with Grandpa Marv and Grandma Shirley, Uncle Brad, and even Auntie Sharyl came out one day. It was great. I played outside all day, except when it hailed, boy was that noisey. It was sure fun crawling around on all of the rocks and walking all over the place! (With a little help of course). We went fishing and Dad caught a fish that was almost as big as me, he sure seemed happy about that. I hope that I get to go camping again soon.
